N.C. State Fair Offers Discounted Admission and Announces Remaining Concerts

The N.C. State Fair will host several special days geared for youth, senior citizens and military personnel during the 11-day celebration at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. 'Farm to School' Program Delivers NC Produce to Public School Cafeterias

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) reports that the first deliveries of North Carolina produce will soon hit cafeterias in 55 school systems as part of the department's Farm to School Program. Participating school systems placed orders for locally grown watermelons, cantaloupes, grape tomatoes, tomatoes and four varieties of apples, and deliveries will be made Aug. 30 and Sept. 12.

New Exhibit at the State Capitol Explores N.C. on the Eve of the Civil War
