If you're a current member, just log in the traditional way for the last time, click on your settings link in your profile box on the home page, then click "Connections" to enable login access through Facebook, Google or Yahoo! Once you turn on those connections, your page will look like this:

In order to register for a membership to Triangle TRACKS, you must provide an email address, password, your gender and your location. You can then choose to answer four profile questions, two of which are not publicly displayed. Only your gender, location and answers to the following questions are publicly displayed on your Triangle TRACKS profile page:

7. How do you post an event on the Triangle TRACKS calendar?

8. How do you submit a link to Triangle TRACKS?

If you know of a business or organization that offers or promotes children's resources and/or events, and you would like to submit a link to Triangle TRACKS for inclusion on one of our 28 pages of resources, just email it and we'll check it out. If it seems like an appropriate addition to the network, we'll add it and let you know where it is.

9. How do I customize my profile page?

Log in, click on "Settings" in the upper right corner of the Triangle TRACKS home page, then click on "My Page" in the upper left corner to make changes to your photo, theme or apps.

10. How do I invite friends to join Triangle TRACKS?

There are several ways to do this. Click on the "Invite" tab in the menu bar at the top of the home page, or click on "Friends - Invite" tab in the upper right-hand corner. Then, you can chose to either import friends from various address books you have (Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL), enter email addresses manually, import email addresses from your address book application or share the "invite" link on that page in a mass email to your friends through your own email program.

11. What kinds of apps can I add to my profile page?

Log in, click on "settings" in the upper right corner of the home page, then click on "My Page" on the left. Scroll down to where it says "My Apps" and click on the "App Directory" to browse the various apps available to Triangle TRACKS members. You can also use this page to manage the apps you've already added.

12. What's the difference between being a member and a newsletter subscriber?

If you are a Triangle TRACKS member, you have the ability to post content on Triangle TRACKS (blogs, forum discussions, calendar events, photos, etc.). You will also receive network broadcast messages twice a month consisting of content updates, and you will have access to members-only contests from time to time. 

If you are a Triangle TRACKS newsletter subscriber, you receive a digital newsletter that previews upcoming events and activities for Triangle kids in your email inbox at the end of every month, but you are not able to contribute to Triangle TRACKS' content or participate in members-only contests.

13. How do I contact another member?

Visit the Members page and type in the name of the member you are looking for in the search field. You can also contact members via our Groups page if you're interested in communicating with someone who lives in your area.

14. What is the Triangle TRACKS Marketplace?

The Triangle TRACKS Marketplace offers custom products created by Triangle TRACKS members. This is a special perk available only to those who join Triangle TRACKS.

15. How do I purchase advertising or coupon space on Triangle TRACKS?

Click on our Advertise or Coupons pages to find out how to purchase ad or coupon space and to see the various options we offer.

16. How do I post a free classified ad on Triangle TRACKS?

Hover your mouse over the "Marketplace" tab and click on the "Classifieds" tab. Choose a category then click on "Add a Listing" and follow the simple directions for posting your classified ad.

You can also connect with Triangle TRACKS on Facebook,Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr and YouTube.

18. How do I link content on Triangle TRACKS to Facebook, Twitter and other social networks?

At the end of every blog post, forum discussion or calendar event you will see sharing icons, including Facebook and Twitter. There are additional options under the "Share" icon. Just click on the network you would like to link the content to, then you'll be asked to log in to that account so you can share the link and an accompanying message in your status bar.

19. What is the Triangle TRACKS Linkzine?

The Triangle TRACKS Linkzine offers a digital magazine experience. There are thousands of free child-specific articles on the Internet for you to read. All we had to do was pick a topic, and put them all on one page. If you have topic suggestions, please let us know.

20. How does Triangle TRACKS handle spammers?

Triangle TRACKS has a zero-tolerance spamming policy. Visit our Guidelines page to read it. Also, if you become aware of someone attempting to spam Triangle TRACKS members, please let us know.  

21. Who administers Triangle TRACKS?

My name is Elizabeth Shugg (my friends call me Beth). I was born in Lincolnton, Ga., grew up in Athens, Ga., and moved to the Roanoke, Va. area the summer before my eighth grade year. I am a born-and-bred southerner, but I married a northeasterner! 

I launched Triangle TRACKS in January 2008. You can read more about how and why I decided to do this on the Triangle TRACKS history page. Since graduating from Virginia Tech in 1995, I've worked as a magazine editor, communications coordinator and freelance writer. While in school, I met my husband, Chris. We married on the Virginia Tech campus in 1995 and now have three great kids: Ben, Connor and Katie.
