My husband and I lived in an Orlando, Florida suburb (Lake Mary) the first two years of our marriage and one of our favorite restaurants there was
Steak 'n Shake. So when two new Steak 'n Shake restaurants recently opened in Raleigh (one on Millbrook Road and the other on Capital Blvd.), Our Food TRACKer, Tyler Wright, posted a blog about them and their free kids meal policy. We ate at the Capital Blvd. location this weekend and found out the policy has changed.
The free meals are now offered Fridays from 5-9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The way it works is you get one free kids meal per $8 spent.
But that's not all...
The extras offered to kids keep them busy during the entire meal! Here's what happened when we walked in. The hostess gave all three of our kids a make-your-own chef hat, cardboard mustang kit complete with sticker details, and an activity sheet and box of crayons. After this, I said, "Now the only thing that could be better than this is if the kids meals are free!" And she said, "As a matter of fact, they are!" That's when she explained the above policy to me. I called the Millbrook location and confirmed that this deal is being offered there as well. The food is fantastic and the milkshakes are some of the best I've ever had. Be sure to check it out. (Notice we ordered a fruit plate as well, to balance out the less healthy items we ordered!)
