Looking for an indoor way you and the kids can honor and celebrate Vetarans Day today? The N.C. Museum of History offers an exhibit titled "A Call to Arms," which looks at North Carolina's military heritage from the American Revolution to the Iraq War. Check out the online exhibit preview here.

Also, Gaston County Museum in the Charlotte area is featuring its first online exhibit called "Civil War Letters," a collection that reveals the war's lasting effects on the region. Letters from the Holland family help us understand these turbulent times. Just click on the letter and you will go to a page where you can see an image of the actual letter and read the entire text.

Here are some other things going on in the area today.
