As this year’s AT&T Raleigh Winterfest draws to an end, Polar Ice House is inviting Triangle residents to show off their skills and win big at the downtown rink’s final event of the season on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Six lucky contestants will be chosen to participate in two shooting contests where they will have the chance to win grand prizes of $500 cash or four Carolina Hurricane tickets.
The first of the two shooting competitions will be a Shoot-to-Win contest where one lucky contestant will have one 80-foot shot on the goals for a chance to win $500 cash. The hole in the net will measure 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches high.
The second competition will give five contestants the opportunity to take part in an old-fashion shooting competition with prizes for first, second and third place. Come cheer on your favorite contestant as they fire up the goal! The 1st place grand prize will be four Carolina Hurricane tickets, and the second and third place winners will both receive Polar Ice House gift certificates.
For those who wish to come out and cheer on the contestants, enjoy a free, steaming cup of hot chocolate to keep you warm along with free food provided by local vendors. While we can’t all be “shooting all-stars,” mini-skating instructions will also be offered to anyone of any age who desires to brush up on their skating skills and technique.
AT&T Raleigh Winterfest is the city’s premiere holiday event with the rink being one of the centerpieces of excitement; don’t miss out on enjoying some post-holiday fun before it’s gone!
