My "Annie" story starts and ends with my mom. She loved the theatre and would occasionally steal me away from school to take in a matinee, just me, no siblings. It was very serendipitous. One of my first adventures was a Wednesday afternoon production of "Annie". I was in middle school. I loved it. I remember getting the record and playing it over and over in my room. I know mom took me to many other shows, but this one always sticks out in my mind as special as it was the first. Sometimes I feel like "Annie"...All alone in the world. Mostly my loneliness. comes from missing my mom, who died 5 years ago. My kids were 2 and 3 y/o and they have been orphaned by not having the powerful impact of a loving, fun, silly, grandma. One of the last things mom and I did together was see a Broadway tour of Lion King. After ever show mom would ask me "what was your favorite part?". I had many favorite parts of shows that I reported over the years. But if she were to ask me today. My favorite part would be spending special time with her!! I would love to take my kids to see "Annie" and share this memory and tradition with them.

Cindilee, what a precious story about you and your mom. It would be the beginning of a wonderful tradition for you and your kids to go see Annie together. By the way, they may not have their grandmother around, but they have a great mom!

It sounds like seeing Annie would be just as special to you as your kids. I'm sure your mom will be there with you!

My "Annie" story was when I was in the 5th grade. Our school put on a production of "Annie" and I got to play the understudy for Molly. I never got to actually perform the part (since I think we only performed ONCE!), but it was awesome being a part of such a talented group of young singers! I wish my daughter's school would put on a production like that!
