The documentary "Babies" simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from birth to first steps: Ponijao from Namibia, Bayarjargal from Mongolia, Mari from Tokyo and Hattie from San Franci…

Flintstones and Jetson’s on Saturday mornings,
Climbing through treetops heedless of warnings,
Running through meadows while blackbirds take wing,
Unbridled joy of the children in spring.
Fireflies luminate woodlands in splashes,
Crickets and peepers hold symphonic bashes,
Saltwate…

When we were children, we had our own world, entirely unknown to adults. The yards were surrounded on three sides by hedges. Where they met, they formed shaded tunnels. We might meander from…

We recycle in our family and I have long been frustrated by the small, uncovered, lug-around recycle bins in Apex. That's about to change.
Apex residents now have the option to request 65 gallon, covered, roll-out carts at no additional cost to them! You must be pro-active and request the new cart or you'll just be stuck with your old one.
Another advantage to the new cart is that it will be acceptable to recycle your used phone books in them!
Information about the cart is available here:…

CARDS. Birthdays, holidays, special occasions or just to say “Thank You!” We are always buying cards.
Why not buy unique cards that help benefit pediatric patients at North Carolina Children’s Hospital? Some of the cards incorporate handprints and footprints of patients and others are creative works by the children themselves. Kids Cards come in boxes, with 10 cards per box , for $8.
Some of the programs funded by Kids Cards go towards camperships for burn victims, bilingual education material…

June 18, 8:30 pm. Well here I am blogging and what I really wanted to do was snuggle up with my son and read. He’s ten so I’m probably not supposed to advertise that we sometimes snuggle up and read so don’t tell anyone. Shhh.
I strolled over to his room and reached for the doork…
