Free Tennis Camp in Cary

"Free" is a wonderful word, especially when combined with "camp." The Southwest Wake News is reporting that the Kodali family in Cary is offering kids between the ages of 5 and 13 FREE tennis lessons, a tennis racquet, a can of tennis balls and a camp T-shirt. It may sound too good to be true, but this is for real. Visit… Continue

That's how quickly we discover new resources in the area, or new resources become available to Triangle families.

Beyond the creative and informative blogs posted by our members that link to the latest news about children's resources and events here, we take… Continue

The Toughest Part of Our One-Night Trip to the Beach? Finding a Parking Space!

My kids attend year-round school on track 4, so we have July off. This particular July was crammed with camps and family visits, so we opted out of taking a lengthy vacation and instead decided to drive into Wilmington for a one-night stay. We booked a hotel near Wrightsville Beach and leisurely headed down I-40 Saturday morning.

After a brief stop for lunch, we arrived at Wrightsville Beach and quickly learned how difficult it is to find a… Continue

Our $40 Day at the Farmers' Market

The N.C. State Farmers Market in Raleigh was one of the first places my husband and I visited when we arrived--childless--in North Carolina 12 years ago. Not much has changed--and that's a good thing. Earthy aromas flow through stand after stand of vibrant produce--from fleshy red tomatoes, to plump juicy blueberries. Sunflowers tower over colorful bouquets… Continue

We’ve tried various ice pop brands—from Wal Mart's to Breyers'—but have yet to experience… Continue
