Safe Kids North Carolina Will Bake S'mores Inside a Car to Demonstrate Hyperthermia Dangers

The N.C. Department of Cultural Resources' '2nd Saturdays' Family Fun Continues This Summer

The N.C. Department of Cultural Resources will once again showcase North Carolina’s culture, heritage, and arts with the second year of its popular “2nd Saturdays ” program in June, July, and August. Wake County Spelling Bee Winner Participates in National Scripps Spelling Bee June 1-4

Catherine Wagner, the winner of the first annual PAGE of Wake County Spelling Bee will travel to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee June 1-4. Katherine is the first Wake County participant in the Scripps bee in 13 years.



Wagner is an eighth grader at St. Michael the Archangel School in Cary. She won the regional spelling bee Feb. 26, 2011. We will be eagerly watching her progress through the competition and wish her the best of luck!
