Event Description

Polar Ice House announced today a series of special events at haunted locations in Wake Forest and Cary to make the most out of this year’s Halloween celebration before hitting the sidewalk to trick-or-treat Saturday night. To get in the spirit, Polar Ice House is hosting free skating exhibitions at each location and additional events in Cary on Saturday, Oct. 31, including a costume contest, trick-or-treating and on-ice games.

The Triangle Figure Skating Club is headlining the events with exclusive performances of a bewitching choreographed routine to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The “Thriller” performance, debuting at the Carolina Hurricanes game on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the RBC Center, is sure to leave audiences terrifyingly delighted. Additionally, experienced skaters will don creepy costumes to showcase individual figure skating programs.

The festivities kick-off with “Spooktacular” at Polar Ice House at The Factory in Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Cary Polar Ice House location will host “Fright Night” from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Following the “Thriller” performance and figure skating exhibition, a contest will be held to reward the best costume with a free birthday party package.

“We are excited to welcome the talented skaters from the Triangle Figure Skating Club and host this special performance,” said Randy Lee, general manager of the Polar Ice House. “With this year’s events, the Polar Ice House is offering a great way to get even more mileage out of your Halloween costume.”

Throughout the events, treats will be handed out while a soundtrack of ghostly tunes fills the rink. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Halloween goodie bags.
